Uptown is a strong regional economic generator as it is home to such institutions as the University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, VA Hospital, Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the hospitals of the Tri-Health and Health Alliance. These major employers, along with associated development, create over 60,000 jobs for the region. In addition, over 70,000 people call the Uptown area home.
OKI worked closely with community leaders and organizations to provide a comprehensive community transportation study, incorporating economic development and land use components into the transportation decision-making process.
The final study recommendations were approved by the OKI Board of Directors in January 2007. Review these recommendations by clicking here for the Executive Summary. Please click here for the full Final Report.
